EDIT: You can now watch here

Just thought i'd start a new thread about this. Will be updating the thread based on my progress!

I'm trying to get the 80's mini series HotShotz online in some form for everyone to watch (in case you haven't).

Current Status:
After user Kylerean said this in another thread ...
Kylerean wrote:Don't know if you could get a copy, but could problaby view at the nz film archive

I contacted them and they said this:
Hi Matt

You are welcome to watch this in our Auckland office on K' Rd.

Otherwise to get a copy you would need to contact the original producers:
Impact Television/Holly Wood Enterprises.
I don't think this/these companies are still in existence, so I would suggest maybe trying trying TVNZ.
I have since called TVNZ. And they said unfortunately due to contracts etc they are unable to put it online. I asked if it'd be shown at all on T.V in the future (even at 4am hah!). They said if it did play it'd most likely be on heartland TV.

They told me to contact http://nzonscreen.co.nz/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I gave them a call, and I'm awaiting a call back from an appropriate person.

3:58 Edit: Came across this - http://lonely.geek.nz/kiwitv/index.php? ... &Itemid=42" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hi, any chance to get this series? I think you shouldn't worry about rights for a 25 years old programme especially when the company doesn't exist anymore. How about to make some of the old fans of this series happy?

Thanks.

I wish it was that easy, it's in TVNZ hands.

I'll contact nzonscreen.com and probe them some more.

Hi Matt,
I and several other members of the ARCCC where involved with the R/C car part of the production - we had several meetings with Impact TV to advise on technical aspect involving
the cars and assisted at the Mt Richmond track during filming.
I can see myself in the red and dark blue cap along with Colin Capie in one of your photos you posted.
Do you have anymore photos?
I have scanned some memorabilia i have from those days which you may find interesting which i have attached.
I would also love to view the series again.
I remember recording it on VHS tape back then but it has since long gone landfill i expect.
Cheers,
Dennis Ware.

Hi Guys

Mike Potton from NZ On Screen here.

Glad everyone is enjoying the telefeature, sorry it took a few years to get up, but we got there in end!

While researching the title we came across this thread, we would love to feature on our page the production photos above along with the scanned letter from ITV.

Matt and Dennis if you could please make contact with me at michael@nzonscreen.com that would be fantastic. For the photos I need to know who shot them to get permission from them, and for the scan I just need email permission form yourself Dennis.

Thanks
