Wasn't my car, was apparently from not long after the first pull of the throttle off the start, who knows which belt gave way first but it took out the other one too!

looks like the frount belt died first, as it looks like the rear belt got wraped up and snapped, not shreaded like the frount belt.

Peasey: did it make a snap sound ? (out of morbid interest really)

Ed: Wouldn't know, starting grid was on the back straight on the other side of the track. Warm up laps were fine, parked her up on the grid and when the buzzer went off no acceleration. Kept my finger on the throttle to try and get out of the way of the cars behind which would have wrapped the 2nd belt around the pulleys. The belts were fused into the plastic layshaft holder but amazingly there was no damage to the pulleys.

Nah no pics of the belts. It was more that the holder got melted around the fiberglass strands.

Awesome event, I would say the best International to date.
Dave and Chris T, thank you very much

I think all the new rules that got tried were a complete success, the controlled rubbers especially were excellent

I have a shite load of photos to look through, I will get some of them up in the next day or two
