Re: On Road National Champs Feb 2018

Couple of Q's Qualifying Heats: First one is random then consecutive are based on finishing position, just to clarify this is for the order within your heat ie you won't be changing between say stock a and stock b if you have a crap run, you'll just be off the back of the grid in qualifying? Transmi...

Re: AGM/Remits

Pretty sure this rule only applies to Offroad as it is a "B" rule and in the offroad rules section, so excludes onroad.

Re: AGM/Remits

Pretty sure the control tyre remits didn't pass, or the 10Amp charge remit, looks like we will be seeing a new voting format next year as well, also believe HiV lipos have been banned as well, can't quote me on these 2nd hand communication

Re: AGM/Remits

Yeah mine was purely a change to the charge rate as the lipo rules/guidelines were supposed to be in the Health and Safety guidelines, but yeah def need to add that one in, more than likely just missed off the list of rules.

Re: AGM/Remits

So on another note has anyone else realised that the proposed lipo rules remit doesn't include lipos to be hard cased???

Re: AGM/Remits

Currently there isnt a rule and technically there never was, it was a guideline hence it was removed nearly 2 yrs ago. Setting a maximum charge current limits a chargers output power regardless of what any sticker on a pack says, it also provides an easier setpoint for scrutineers if they wish to ch...

Wow, I thought that track was long gone.

This event is on the same weekend as the 1/8th EP offroad nationals at Nelson.
Hope the date don't change as I just booked and paid for flights

Re: AGM/Remits

If anyone wants too they can just buy the turnigy lipo warmer to heat their packs to around the 35ish degree mark, 10Amp on a normal stick pack doesn't do diddly to add any performance to a pack, the remit I put forward was aimed at faster charging but still in a relatively safe range for standard p...

Re: AGM/Remits

Good points raised here, its all good as i have some 20000 mAH packs on order so will be charging at 20 amps at the next meet, like i mentioned earlier there is no standard in the world for rating the c rating of a battery, so why base a rule on it, the only thing stopping anyone from charging their...

Re: AGM/Remits

To put it in another perspective, the NZRCA rules state that for Mod racing I can run whatever turn motor I want, my current esc is only rated to an 8.5T, but I want to run a 4.5T, with your example regarding the micro batteries and using the same ideology if I run the 4.5T and everything goes up in...

Re: AGM/Remits

A valid point yet the NZRCA rules , like most people point out, are set for NZRCA sanctioned meetings, and last time I checked Micro was not an Official class in the rule book, so technically wouldn't be covered by the rules anyway, yes there are exceptions to the rules, but like stated previously i...

Re: AGM/Remits

Remit 5: Otago Radio Control Car Club (Remit 2) Current rule: There isn't any as LiPo guidelines were removed. Proposed Rule: Lipos to be charged with a nominal current no higher than 10 Amps Why 10 amps? If i'm running a 3300mah Shorty thats 3c charge rate but if I'm running 7000mAH packs for onro...

Re: Gallery, Show off your rides!!!

Looking good, I see you managed to get the hex pattern all cut, its refreshing to see some curves for once as well, achieving nice looking flames is a hard task let alone to pinstripe them as well, nice work  (y)

Re: AGM/Remits

Mate I don't remember reading in the remit anyone who races without tyre warmers will be banished for life, did I miss something? PS tyre warmers are banned for the invitational class at Reedy Race of Champions, maybe you could place a remit to ban them in NZ and see how it fly's? No it is more to ...

Re: AGM/Remits

we tired to get the best bang for bucks, and we (I) failed to choose the right one, at that stage not many had experience with control tires so the knowledge wasn't there While I totally understand that not everyone at your club has tyre warmers and it is awesome that you help out others with your ...
